Last week I joined a group of colleagues selected for our contributions to our organization and potential for bigger and better things as mid-careerists. As part of the leadership forum, we visited several landmarks and took my first tour of the Capitol building.
The inside dome is gorgeous, reminiscent of domes in Europe.
The relief that rings the base of the dome apparently took 100 years to complete.
The paintings were equally amazing.
These pictures capture the 1st Supreme Court chamber, which was never meant to be housed in the Capitol building, but apparently it took a while to find a permanent home for the Court.
Old congressional chamber. Excellent week, felt very lucky to be in such good company.
