tri-tip

Beef, it's what's for dinner...unless you are watching the SuperBowl then you are stuck with nachos and wings.  Let me just say smoked paprika is the bacon of the spice world.  Tri tip was rubbed with mixture of smoked paprika and Seasonello http://www.pastacheese.com/seasonellobolognaaromaticherbalsalt.aspx and let stand at room temp for an hour or so and grill...awesome.  Per Sophie "this is the only steak that I like."  Accompanied by yellow potatoes roasted at 350 with olive oil/lemon juice/garlic/grated gruyere for about 30 min covered and then 20 min uncovered, then salt and pepper. Served over arugula--no dressing needed.  "It's bitter" said Sophie as she shoveled it in....perhaps in anticipation of dessert.  Tim-Tams Australia's favorite cookie. Now if we could only get our hands on some Cheezels http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cheezels/16322817881  you know they have to be good if they have their own facebook page.  Also a plug for Mighty Arrow Pale Ale by New Belgium Brewery--their spring selection, nicely hopped--I can smell the flowers blooming already
