Homemade Pop Tarts!  Or why I still needed to run 35 miles this week despite the 100 degree heat and humidity.....

Maddy made these from the Smitten Kitchen recipe.  One batch has two sticks of butter, hence the flakiness and the mileage.  Fillings included homemade strawberry jam, commercially prepared blackberry jam, and duh--Nutella.  Sophie, who would eat store bought Pop Tarts to the exclusion of all other breakfast items, totally took advantage of my willingness to allow homemade treats.  Whenever we bake something she likes in relatively limited quantity the first question out of her mouth is, "how many do we each get?" I got three, but one of them was really small, really......
