You must bring us a shrubbery!

Inspired by a segment in a recent "Good Food" podcast  I bought some blackberry drinking vinegar at Hmart for $4.99.  Apparently you can also buy a fancier version from the folks at Pok Pok.  I am not sure it would be 3 times as delicious.  I made two versions, the second one with a little Cynar.  I liked that one better so it's the recipe listed below. 

Bourbon Berry Shrub

1 oz. bourbon

3/4 oz. Luxardo

1/2 oz. Cynar

3/4 oz. drinking vinegar

Put all over ice in a shaker and shake vigorously.  Strain into highball glass with large format ice cubes.   

You can also add a shot of this drinking vinegar to soda water--I think I used a 4:1 ratio of soda:vinegar for a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage.
